Hi, I’m Daniela, founder of La Cobija. Thank you for visiting my website and joining me on this project I created to share my love for Guatemala and my passion for living a life full of meaningful experiences.

During my time working in hospitality and tourism, I realized how much I loved connecting with people from all over the world and that every interaction should always be personal, warm, and of the highest quality. Later, working as a destination wedding planner, I noticed how eager travelers were to discover Guatemala. Through these experiences, sharing stories, laughter, and learning together, I realized my responsibility went beyond showing them the culture—I wanted them to feel at home, like family.

At the same time, I am deeply passionate about living simply and finding beauty in life’s small, thought-provoking moments. In a world full of materialism, noise, and constant comparisons, where time feels like a precious treasure, I value slowing down to connect with what truly matters: nature, meaningful conversations, shared meals, and genuine human connection.

That’s why La Cobija embodies this vision: to shelter, nurture, and make everyone feel happy and comfortable, free from expectations or comparisons—just living and enjoying the moments we create together.

A life-changing trekking expedition in Peru also shaped this purpose. I traveled alone for seven days, carrying only the essentials, questioning life, my goals, and my desires. Experiencing simplicity in its purest form helped me realize the beauty of what I already had—and inspired me to create unique experiences right here in Guatemala, a country brimming with wonders to share.

So here I am, welcoming you into my world. Together, we can explore, connect, reflect, and form friendships that feel like family—spaces where we can be fully ourselves, cherish each other, and celebrate the beauty of life and humanity.
